Voting & Representation

Who voted, where, how the count worked, and what the people elected have done since.

In plain words

Who voted, who was elected, and how did the count get from one to the other?

Cambridge elects at large by ranked choice, so a precinct's turnout and a councillor's mandate are not the simple relationship they are in a ward system. Reading the result correctly requires the transfers, not only the first choices.

The formula uses identified inputs and the method is reproducible.

Method: Voters recorded as turning out in the precinct, divided by registered voters in the precinct, then multiplied by one hundred and rounded to one decimal place. Both inputs are printed in the same row of the official turnout table.
